The first two days of our trip were accompanied by our personal guide Chandana (nickname “Chan”). Chan was our guide and driver at the same time. He took us from the airport and drove us to Sigiriya with a rented air-conditioned mid-class limousine. The next day he took us to the Lion Rock in Sigirya. As we looked at the Lion’s Rock, he waited for us. Afterwards we went together to eat and then he drove us to Kandy.
The accompaniment of Chan and his service as our driver had several advantages for us:
When we were completely tired and from the winter in Germany easily caught a cold caught at the Bandaranaike International Airport, Chan was already waiting for us, took us in and also helped us with the purchase of a SIM card for our mobile phone.
Right at the beginning we discussed what we would like to see and what not. Chan has not spared us any sights, but supported us constructively in the planning.
Communication was not a problem at all. Chan speaks a very good English and one can understand him well despite the typical dialect.
Since we were very satisfied with our travel guide Chan, we can recommend it with a good conscience and would like to support him in his activity as a tourist guide.
